An Easy Chicken Breast Recipe Cooked in Sherry and Orange Juice

On of my favourite easy Chicken Breast Recipes is this Orange Chicken Recipe. The coated chicken breasts are seared and then cooked through with a sherry and orange juice reduction.



Boneless chicken breast recipes can be quite dry but the sherry and orange juice prevent this while adding an amazing flavor. This orange chicken is perfect serve with rice and really quick and easy to prepare and cook.

Orange Chicken Recipe


Serves 2 - 4 depending on how much people will eat

  • 50ml cake flour
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 5ml paprika
  • 4 large chicken breast fillets
  • 30ml oil
  • 30g butter
  • Rind and juice of one large orange
  • 120ml medium cream sherry
  • Slices of two oranges, peeled with pith removed (optional)

How to Cook Orange Chicken


Combine the flour, salt, pepper and paprika and place in a plastic bag. Dip the chicken breasts into mixture and shake the bag so the chicken breasts get evenly coated.

Preheat the oil and butter in a frying pan and brown the chicken breasts on both sides.

Add the rind, the juice and the sherry to the pan and cover with a lid. Cook for a further 5-8 minutes.

Remove lid, add orange slices and cook for three minutes. Serve immediately with rice and a salad.
