Delicious Italian Chicken Recipes For Fabulous Dinner Delights



Italian Chicken Recipes are easy and delicious. They go particularly well with pasta and the herbs make great flavour combinations. This Italian Chicken Dish is cooked in a pan on the stove and is a reliable dinner recipe.

Italian Cooking Recipe Inrgedients

  • 6 chicken breast fillets (boneless and skinless)
  • flour for coating (seasoned with salt and pepper)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • dried beardcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil (or frying oil of your choice)
  • 500 g (1 lb) jar tomato pasta sauce
  • 6 slices prosciutto or ham
  • 6 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 6 sprigs of your favourite herb (sage is good)

How To Cook Italian Chicken

Flatten the chicken breasts lightly by placing them between sheets of greaseproof paper and pounding them lightly.

Dust them with the seasoned flour and then dip in the beaten egg. Then coat them with the breadcrumbs.

Place the coated chicken breasts on a plate and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Heat oil in a large frying pan over a medium heat. Cook the chicken breasts on either side for 2 - 3 mnutes or until golden. Set the chicken breasts aside, pour out the oil from the pan and wipe the pan with kitchen paper. Add the pasta sauce to the pan and stir over a medium heat until it gets hot. Place the chicken breasts in a single layer on top of the sauce and top each fillet with a slice of ham or prosciutto, then a slice of mozzarella and on top of that a sprig of your chosen herb.

Cover the pan and let it all simmer for about 5 minutes or until the chicken is cooked and the cheese melts.
